Ecotric ECOSCC folding hitch carrier with ramp
If loading a wheelchair or mobility scooter into the boot is a palaver — or simply not an option — this hitch-mounted carrier does the heavy lifting for you. It’s a no-nonsense carrier and ramp in one: hook it into a 2″ receiver, fold the ramp down, roll your device on, then fold and lock it flat for the road. Simple as that.
Key features
- Roomy, purpose-built platform – 46.2 x 26.8 inches (approx. 117.4 x 68.1 cm) gives plenty of space for most wheelchairs and mid-size scooters.
- Generous ramp length – 38.7 inches (approx. 98.3 cm) when extended, so the incline is gentler and loading’s much easier.
- 500 lb capacity (about 226.8 kg / 0.23 tonne) – fits the vast majority of mobility devices; do double-check your vehicle’s hitch rating first.
- Robust steel construction with a black powder-coat finish for corrosion resistance and a neat, discreet look.
- Three-position operation – locked flat for travel, L-shape for a short drop, or fully flat for straightforward roll-on/roll-off.
- Secure tie-down points along the sides for straps, plus a 3″ safety rail and internal spring-loaded pull locks to keep everything snug on the move.
Technical specifications and fitment
Model: ECOSCC. Carrier weight approx. 67.3 lbs (around 30.5 kg), ramp gate about 16 lbs (≈7.3 kg) — manageable with two people. Fits standard 2″ (50.8 mm) hitch receivers and is recommended for hitch class III or IV. The heavy-duty folding hitch with internal locking gives good rigidity on the road, though we’d advise adding a hitch tightener to cut down on wobble (anti-wobble plate not included).
Why this might suit you
If you want a hassle-free way to transport a mobility device without taking it apart or wrestling with a hoist, this carrier is a winner. Roll on, strap down, drive off — no faff. It’s especially handy in winter when wet, heavy kit is awkward to lift, and ideal for family trips, appointments or when you need the vehicle’s interior free for passengers or luggage.
Practical notes and safety
Don’t load or unload a mobility device while someone’s seated in it. Always check your vehicle hitch’s rated capacity before use. For the quietest, most secure set-up, a hitch tightener is worth fitting — it reduces wobble and wear in the long run. If you’ve got an unusually heavy scooter or are unsure about compatibility, double-check the measurements and total weight first.
All in all, this carrier is solidly built, sensible and designed to make life easier rather than complicate it. It’s straightforward to fit, easy to use and saves a lot of lifting and strain when you’re getting out and about.
