Hagen Automation 50g PTFE powder lubricant for cycle chain waxing – Ultra fine, Lab grade, Low PFOA, Virgin PTFE
Hagen Automation presents a very high-quality PTFE powder, specifically designed for the hot waxing of cycle chains. Our 50g pack of PTFE has been crafted to meet the demand for an effective lubricant that enhances chain performance. Each foil pack offers excellent value and is perfect for creating high-performance mixtures for hot waxing.
This PTFE powder can be mixed at a recommended concentration of 10% with 500g of wax (such as paraffin, soy, carnauba, or blends) or a more standard 5% with 1kg of wax. The addition of powdered additives like Molybdenum Disulphide (Micronised MoS2) or Tungsten Disulphide (Micronised WS2) can further enhance performance.
Our PTFE is pure polytetrafluoroethylene, commonly known as Teflon, and is manufactured to precision engineering quality standards in Canada. It is packed in the UK and batch tested for quality and purity. The product features a very low PFOA level, ensuring compliance with the highest international standards.
PTFE is highly regarded for its non-stick and chemical stability properties, with a low friction coefficient of just 0.04µ. It operates effectively within a service temperature range of -240°C to +250°C, making it ideal for various conditions.
We recommend using vinyl gloves and a dust mask when handling powdered PTFE to prevent irritation. For those new to hot chain waxing, it is an effective method for protecting and lubricating chains by dipping them in molten wax, resulting in a clean application without the fling associated with traditional chain lubes.
