If the belt’s jammed, pull the Resqme from its clip to reveal the blade, hook it over the seatbelt and pull in one smooth motion to slice through. To break a side window, press the head into a corner of a tempered (toughened) side window — it won’t work on laminated windscreens. That’s important: it’s made for side windows and most sunroofs or rear windows, which are usually toughened. If you’re unsure, look for a small ‘tempered’ or ‘toughened’ mark in the corner of the glass, or roll the window down a touch and check the edge.
Accessories and positioning
Each Resqme attaches to a key ring or the supplied cable tie. Hang one from the rear-view mirror with the zip tie for quick reach, or clip it to the sun visor (a visor clip is available in the premium accessory pack). A few honest notes
It doesn’t work on laminated windscreens — only on tempered/toughened side windows. Removing the safety clip can be a bit fiddly if you haven’t got a key ring or cable tie attached, so fit one before you need it. All in all, it’s straightforward, reliable and small enough not to be a nuisance, but big enough to be genuinely useful when things go pear-shaped.
