Designed with adventurers in mind, this kit can knock out up to 1.56kWh a day, as long as the sun’s playing ball. It comes with not one, but two clever 195W bifacial panels – that’s solar jargon for panels that catch the sun from both sides, so you squeeze out every last drop of energy whether it’s bouncing off the roof or glancing up from the ground.
These panels are a bit of kit, too. With a see-through back letting in loads of light (up to 91.5% transmittance) and a snappy 23% conversion rate, you’re looking at up to 858Wh per panel, per day – when the conditions are spot on. Compared to your bog-standard solar panels, these can boost your output by as much as a third, which is nothing to sniff at.
Keeping everything ticking over is the 30A PWM charge controller. It’s clever enough to protect your setup against short-circuits, open circuits, reverse connections, and overloads, so you can relax knowing your gear’s in safe hands. Plus, its three-stage charging keeps your battery in good nick for longer.
And, because British weather is what it is, these panels are built to take a beating. The composite back plate and rust-proof aluminium frame are solid enough for winds up to 2400Pa and snow up to 5400Pa. With IP65 and IP67 rated junction boxes, you don’t need to worry about a bit of rain or a sudden downpour – this kit was made for our unpredictable climate.
You get everything you need in the box: two 195W bifacial panels, a 30A charge controller, a 16ft 11AWG cable, Y-branch connector, cable entry gland, and all the corner brackets you’ll need to get sorted. It’s all pretty straightforward, even if you’re not exactly a DIY ninja.
